1st Prize Piano Trio 2023: Trio Orelon | Laureates | History

The Trio Orelon, founded in 2019, consists of Judith Stapf on violin, Arnau Rovira i Bascompte on cello, and pianist Marco Sanna. Currently, the trio is completing its concert exam for chamber music at the Folkwang Universität der Künste with Prof. Thomas Hoppe. The trio has already been able to prove itself at many competitions. Among others, they received the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned work at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb in 2021, the first prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned work at the competition Schubert und die Musik der Moderne in Graz, the 2nd prize and special prize for the best interpretation of a work by Brahms at the Premio Trio di Trieste, Italy - and just last March - the second prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Italy. The Trio Orelon has performed on many prestigious stages, such as the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Stefaniensaal in Graz, the Beethoven-Haus Bonn and the Rudolf-Oetker-Halle in Bielefeld. For their exceptional abilities they won the first prize and the audience award at the 72. International ARD Music Competition.
